That’s actually usually not chiby’s choice. It’s fansubs that decide if they want to use ordered chapters or not. Coalgirls like to do that for example. I also think it is a Bluray thing, because that is the way they run on the disk.
Why is it bad?
There are pros and cons for anything.
PROS of having a segment linking:
1) Smaller space occupied but still in same (imo) quality.
2) Can rename the files and can still recognize the OP/ED as long as they are in the same directory as the episodes.
CONS:
1) Some media players doesn’t support segment linking, yet. (e.g. Windows Media Player). I use Potplayer and the segment linking works well.
Yeah, and final note, I agree with Final Dead Lancer. I think animechiby just encodes, uploads and shares the series that the people requested them to do so. Animechiby just downloaded the series in the fansub group with a segment linking already. Cheers.
