I want animechiby to provide ddl service from their own server. I hate mirror links which gets expired in preety much time. Animechiby was my favorite site but because mirror links are annoying me more and more, I couldn’t use it always. For someone like me who downloads in bulk (as I don’t have much time to spare) mirror links are worse than hell. Although there are tons of other sites who upload their encodes in ddl servers but as compared to animechiby , their encodes are worth nothing. So if you guys can really overlook this issue and do something it would make me really happy. Sorry if you think I am being selfish but I can’t help it , as acb is my favorite site ever.

Hi. solidfiles disabled resume download and download manager support. its not reliable anymore. I suggest that it be replaced with “zippyshare” and/or “up to box” in “mirrorcreator”. as they both have the resume option and support download manager. thank you.

I just wondering …. I usually watch anime on my android and show the subtitle using an app… but sometimes I watch on TV via USB, when i watched Akagami no Shirayukihime on my TV via USB, the subtitle just pop out fine, but why the others didn’t show the subtitles? is there any difference in coding or what .-.
Akagami no Shirayukihime(funimation) is a hard subed anime, which means that the subtitle is ON the video, but the other anime which its subtitle wouldn’t apear on tv is soft subed which means the subtitle is apart from the video and u would need a suitable program to watch it with sub (vcl player for pc and mx player for android are the best). TV and other devices normally wouldn’t show the embedded subtiltle or if they do, it isn’t as it should be.

Thank you team for bringing my enjoyment of anime in here, actually this site is not my first time enjoying anime but since most of my circles recommending this site then I visit and download some, almost a year (I think, I am not fond of remembering something) I have visited this site (even though sometimes it is down, I don’t know but keep up the good work) and the quality is not reducing at all. So, good luck for keeping up this site (I think it is the most difficult thing to do).
At last someone thinks on people who prefer to sit on the couch and enjoy anime on TV! Sorry confuzius, nothing against you but if you want hi10 there are plenty of sites out there offering them (one naming themselves as the codec, so you will find them easily) Sorry but it is really a bother to connect the cpu to my tv, and what to do with the remote controller? is useless, in short, this site rules because of 8bits to enjoy anime on my LED TV. Not everyone watch anime on a computer, and yes, in a monitor encoding artifacts are noticeable. But TVs are meant to be viewed from at least 2meters away, so no artifact can be seen. And I do not know who told you that hi10 means quality. In fact, they encode to 10bits (wich no computer can process) so the stream is “reconverted” to 8bits again. In short, even if you download a “perfect” 10bit encoding, you lose your “precious” 10bits anyway. And do not praise hi10quality, I have downloaded from the site named after the 10bit codec, and believe me, I saw terrible macroblocks, banding and artifacts. Regretted so much i will redownload what i watched there. You are wrong, dual core tablets can handle 10bits, but framerate accuracy is really horrendous. If there is something I can ask for here is the catalogue,which is small compared to those enormous sites, that is why i downloaded stuff there. Keep up the good work!

I hope you guys actually read this… massive constructive critisism incoming.
I like your encodings, but I hate that you remove stuff from the releases you use (like english dubs or subtitle choices). I get that you want to minimize size, but subs are a few kB and an extra audio stream increases the size by maybe 10%, which is negligible since that only would save space for 1 (one!) episode for a season long anime.
You are also slacking at specifying your sources. Often I have no idea which subs are used, for example: Byousoku 5 Centimeter, Barakamon, Black Lagoon, Claymore, Darker than Black, Eve no Jikan, Gintama, GTO, Heroic Age, Kamisama no Memochou, Kino no Tabi, Last Exile, Rainbow, Rakuen Tsuihou, Redline, Saiunkoku Monogatari (season 2), Stand Alone Complex (both seasons), Totoro, Ookami to Koushinryou… the list goes on.
All of those have no hint about which release/sub groups you used. Subs are important. Tell us what they are.
Also: Why not use 10bit encodes? They are about 20% more efficient in terms of quality / size and don’t have the banding issues 8bit encodes do. Banding is especially noticeable in anime, since it has lots of color transitions/gradients and dark scenes. Have you for example looked at your release of Toradora? I couldn’t stand it, banding all over the place! A 10bit encode would look much smoother AND have higher quality at the same bitrate.
I often find myself replacing or fixing your releases with the official releases (e.g. muxing your video streams with self encoded audio streams and subtitle choices, or even encoding everything myself), because you guys didn’t quite get it right or screwed up (missing chapters and broken segmented linking(*) would be two more examples).
(*) Toradora for example had semi-broken segmented linking, because keyframes and therefore cues were missing at the chapter marks. I recommend a “split at chapters->encode->merge/append” approach for that.
That said I’m still coming back, because other similar “miniMKV groups” also screw up. Some have obtrusive credits – even in the middle of the anime (more like “look at me, I encoded this, don’t dare watch that important scene, but watch my bright white name in that pitch dark scene, as I am the alpha and the omega”-self-proclamations), which devalue their work massively, really.

Pointing out about why not 10-bit. Don’t just think about yourself, think abut others. It may lower the file size, but the difference is not that much. Yes I agree it has better quality, but just like Bakaiser said, old PC with not updated codec usually will display the video kinda lag.
Once I watch anime with my friend’s laptop, just say Kill la Kill, and whenever they use a move with a lot of those move name shows up, then the video will get lag because the laptop wasn’t good enough to run the video. I know I don’t really good with encoding, but at least I know that if they use 10-bit, we have to wait more for update, since 10-bit takes more time than 8-bit.
So here, as someone who have been downloading her video here for years, I think ACB encodes already satisfy my needs. And if you guys still find it not enough to fill your cup of tea and have plenty of time to looking for an even better encodes, you should just go find it on other websites.

Write this off the bat after I read the comment this morning. Please don’t judge me by my Engrish.
Point 1. The thing is that our aim is to decrease the size of the video while making it standard on the rest of the platforms. Hence, we opt to remove the unnecessary audio as it doesn’t do any justice to the anime it might sound good on other anime but in general most of them are not good at all. This also decrease the size of the file per episode. Say for example we have an anime with 52 episodes which mostly is the standard number of anime with dual audio (as dual audio is common on old anime), so lets say we have 10MB per episode for the additional audio. We do think that those MBs are a big deal for our viewers as most of them are here to save space on their hard drives. Lets face it. Its not like we can watch the anime using 2 audio at the same time.
Point 2. We also find the subtitle important that’s why we place it somewhere here http://i.imgur.com/ijtw5oc.png
Point 3. Again, this violates our rule on maintaining our encodes standard on all platform. You can’t watch 10-bit on old TVs and the curve of change regarding the codec thing for old viewers is in need to be taught or specify. Most of them don’t update codec and the viewers without those latest codec will comment on most of the page. Also, encoding 10-bit requires more time than 8-bit, the difference is not that compelling to switch. Bottom line is that we find 8-bit more practical.
Point 4. We highly suggest Combined Community Codec Pack (http://www.cccp-project.net/) as the following problems are not found on our test as we do test our encodes whenever there’s segment linking involved.
Point 5. This is really necessary as we found out that our works are being use by other group for their own benefits. The only way that we can protect our work is to do those things. And no, we don’t promote it as “I am the alpha and the omega” thing. Its just for protecting our work from other group.

Got a few comments, bare with me, another novel incoming.
Point 1: Yeah, I guess for some people the space can make a difference, especially if they put it on their smart phone or similar. Can’t really argue that one, since it’s a matter of preference, and it would be too much to ask for seperate versions.
Still I wished, that you’d put dual audio when you know that the english dub is good – for example Stand Alone Complex has a real solid english dub.
Point 2: Yeah, I’ve seen that you tag the subs there, but still not always. Sometimes you tag multiple sub groups and then it’s not clear which episodes use which.
In some of your releases you have put the subtitle/release group name right in the filename, and I think that’s the best solution, because that way it’s clear which episode uses which subs. This is especially useful to know if, say, the last episodes of the release use HorribleSubs and you want to later replace them with better ones.
Point 3: Hardware limitations are in clear favor of 8-bit encodes, I agree, like in the example of putting the videos on your smart phone, it probably won’t play 10-bit encodes.
But the point about TVs I don’t quite understand. You can hook up your computer to your TV with a simple HDMI cable, so there is absolutely no problem of playing 10-bit encodes there.
Personally I find the difference of 10-bit encodes and 8-bit encodes huge. Not always. But in some scenes, especially dark ones, it is more than just noticeable. In low bitrate 8-bit encodes you can often see the underlying tiling h264 uses. Once you notice it, it won’t go away, draws your attention and bugs you.
For a concrete example: Toradora episode 3, 18:10, the part where Minori and Ryuuji are trapped in a dark shed. Have a look at Minoris hairs and the wall to the left. That is some quite extreme color banding. There are some other scenes with even worse banding.
Do you think, that AnimeChiby can maybe make a vote of what people want to see: 8-bit versus 10-bit? Maybe with options “8-bit, because I need it for my hardware”, “8-bit, because I prefer it”, “10-bit, because I prefer it”.
I’m not saying that this should settle which encoding you should use, that’s still up to you, but it would be at least interesting to know how many people actually _need_ 8-bit encodes.
Point 4: Hm.. that’s odd. I’m using K-Lite Codec Pack (Mega, newest version) with MPC, and the segmented linking of Toradora isn’t really broken, as it does switch scenes, but when it goes from OP->Video or ED->Video, I can see a part of the video from before the intro/outro was played, which shouldn’t happen.
I’ve had that problem with my own encodes, and it is fixed by making sure that the video has keyframes and therefore cues at the chapter marks – the issue is probably that the player can’t skip to the timemark in the video fast enough, cues help that immensely.
I agree, that this problem is more of a problem of the codec/player than the video, but still, inserting keyframes helps.
Point 5: You misunderstood, I didn’t critizise you for using a watermark, in fact, out of all groups I know, yours is the least obstrusive; it’s barely even noticeable. I was saying that other groups sometimes go way overboard on this. So kudos to you!

BTW, I’m from Pluto, came to earth due to weak signals and very slow internet on Pluto. Kind but sometime merciless, Freelancer (i think), Nerd, Technical Enthusiast, Not very sociable creature but can handle trolls and other stupid creature on the social networks. Below is the picture of my imagine breaker. It can break almost anything (oh, not including steel or iron made things, but can do serious damages to them too).
Do i need some special power (other than my imagine breaker) to be part of your herd???

Animechiby is surprisingly reliable, thanks for all of your efforts. Herds, when I opened Dakara Boku wa H ga Dekinai BD, my computer suddenly bluescreened for about 10 secs and restarting. But when I opened another animes, they were fine. Tell me what should I do…? T.T

Actually I’m the one who did the format, my name “Von Dragonov” was generated randomly. I just don’t know why fellow encoders use their name on “randomized name”. I hope that helps answer your question
